Okay ... missing these many days might make you think that I've been bad very very bad. No, not really. Just been extremely busy.
Well Birthday weekend which consisted of Friday (7/1/2011) night ... ate bad and had a beer. Then Vegas for the long weekend. oh my
Ate all kinds of things, however they were not all bad. But did eat something not SCD friendly in every meal. Also, didn't drink a lot of stuff, only had 3 alcoholic beverages throughout the trip. YAY me :)
Yes, I know still bad but other than that I was good. But on day 13 I weighed myself and I was down 9 lbs (1.5 weeks or so)! Then I ate all sorts of bad things (it was cheat day, on my birthday!)
So I'm back on it ... 100% Lets see how much I lose :)

Day 10: ppppuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
My kitty purred today ... that was good news. I was worried about my kitty all day that food fir me didn't seem like a huge deal. Ate 3 meals and was full in between them :)
Had a minor crave for watermelon, but just drank a lot of water. For breakfast now I do there bowl things ... eggs, spinach, turkey sausage, and last but not least lentils. I really like it now :)
My lunch consisted of 2 chicken breasts, 2 cups of beans, veggies and iced tea :)
Looks good no? Might have the same tomorrow.
Dinner ... I was not hungry. I ate some chicken and veggies. Time to force feed some meds on my poor kitty. Wish me luck!

Day 9:Special diet for kitty ... poor kitty
So today was extra difficult. My kitty (the one that disproves of my mangos) went to the vet on Monday and I got a call today that his kidney results were abnormal. Oh man I freaked out!
According to vet, he just needs to take 2 pills twice a day and special food twice a day ... and get him retested in a month. Keeping fingers crossed :)
It's okay that I have to basically force him on taking his pills ... he will get better!
Which brings me to ... I ate dark chocolate today! I was super depressed at work after I got the call. tears and all. I said "Ah, chocolate, I need it" and ate some (not a lot but still it's the whole principle?)
Ah! Other than that, I ate awesomeness, legumes, proteins and veggies!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! okay enough of that ... I'll stop making excuses!
Day 10 ... better!

Day 8: Oooh this looks good .... lentils?
I don't understand how I can eat bacon and eggs every morning and not get tired of that. Today, almost forgot the lentils. Oh the lentils! Just have my eyes on the prize, a few pounds lighter and a few inches thinner ... Ahhh! Will be extremely disappointed if there is no change by next Saturday. Especially with all the changes I've made :)
For breakfast today ... 1 egg and some egg whites, 2 chicken sausages, and 1/2 cup lentils with coffee (boy am I fed up)
Lunch was awesome ... stir-fry with tons of chicken, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, and spicy sauce!
However, legumes were missing I was starving a few hours later. Drank a lot of water and some coffee. Helped for a while ... after a couple hours at the vet ... stressful.
Went to Qdoba and got a naked burrito with beans, guacamole, lots of chicken and lettuce. Pretty awesome. But I want pizza!
Next cheat day is my birthday ... and I have been eating nothing but SCD stuff ... surprisingly. Co-workers brought banana cupcakes :( argh!
It's okay, I'll better things soon!

Day 7: oh the temptations after having the goodness
I could not wake up this morning. Food last night was amazing, we were a little dreading going back to the old grind. Lentils, beans and such. This morning had the usual, 1 egg with whites, l/2 cup lentils, and 2 turkey sausages and some coffee. No chocolate croissant, no coconut roche.
So we went to have some awesome Indian food, mu FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!! We specifically asked for no rice and no NAAN (my weakness) and look what we got...
My husband bit his tongue when the waiter puts this on our table! What I did was fold it in half and pushed it aside and stared at it for a minute. Then the thought came to mind "Ah, I can extend my cheat day, having a little will not kill me" But no I was strong, even when I had some sauce left. My husband was pretty proud, before I would of eaten the entire piece!
So anyway, after the temptation--courtesy of evil evil waiter our food came out.
Had some chana masala, chicken tikka and some mint chutney. Was delicious! So delicious I had some for dinner plus other goodies.
Had some veggies for dinner, some shrimp and more chana masala. Yes, I know, more chickpeas, but was delicious. Today was a breeze despite the temptations. Hopefully as today I overcame the temptations, I will do the same tomorrow :)
Day 6: Bring it on ...
Ah the moment of truth has arrived! However, I will not weight myself nor measure this week. I always make myself crazy.
To start today I had my normal breakfast ... eggs with egg-whites, turkey sausages, and lentils with some coffee. Man was the anticipation building up ... I had some spicy mango, some chocolate croissants, coconut roches ... greek yogurt!
Chocolate Croissant ... delicious!
Spicy mango ... had about 1.5 bags ... mmmm!
Yogurt!!!
Lunch ... sopes! Deep fried masa, beans, asada, and cabbage!
Dinner ... concluded with some nuggets, fries, coke, and mango-pineapple smoothie. This was amazing ... brought it on and took it! Countdown to next Saturday :) and it's my birthday next Saturday!

Day 5: Chocolate wasted!!!!!!
Ah, can't wait for cheat day! Went and got some of the stuff we want to eat tomorrow. Saved some cake pop and will enjoy them so much!
For breakfast today, we had some eggs, turkey sausage, lentils and coffee. This breakfast is extremely satisfying, feel full until lunch.
Lunch today was challenging, we had a late lunch today ... snacked on some steamed broccoli. Lunch, lots of veggies and protein (chicken and thin steak.) Tons of water :)
However, seeing all my co-workers enjoying chips and salsa, all sorts of fruit, beer and soda --I was dying. All I was thinking ... tick-tock this time tomorrow (saturday) I--We will be chocolate wasted :)
Already have my bags of mango, peaches, coconut mounds and will head out tomorrow morning for some chocolate croissants and surprise my husband :)
AHHH! so excited!

Day 4: Better than Chocolate
Today was a breeze for me, my husband not so much. I had lentils in the morning, and that helped me feel full until lunch.
Breakfast:
1 egg with eggwhites, turkey sausage, and lentils. Coffee with little cream.
Lunch:
Love, love, loved it! Stir-fry Chicken, lots and lots of chicken, lots of cabbage, bean sprouts, spinach, hot sauce and sesame seeds. mmm
Dinner:
Pollo loco, pollo bowl with chicken and beans and some green avocado salsa. And some unsweetened iced tea. Only had these meals, there was no need for snacks, I was full all day! Yay, does that mean I am getting used to it?
My distraction last night .. cake pops! Needed to make some for work. Love baking, this the first time I've baked and not gorged in whatever it is I made. (pat on my back) Saved some for cheat day ... whats worse that hearing from your coworkers how good they are when you can't eat them?
How about baking some chocolate croissants? 1: my husband would love me more (that's his #1 crave) but 2: nothing is better than chocolate.
Cheat day Saturday can't wait ... countdown begin.
Although, I haven't lost any weight .. bummed out a little. No worries chocolate will make me happy come Saturday after breakfast!

Day 3: Asparagus anyone?
I usually cheat in the first 3 days of the diet. HA! Not this girl. However, I--I mean we had a horrible night sleep. Kept waking up ... not sure why. I blamed it on my little ones (kitties)
This is the best picture I have of them together Bagheera (she's the black one) and Cachun (he's the constant puurr) But I am sure they make the same noise every night ... something about this diet is making us not sleep as sound as we used to. Anyway, hope it gets better.
Breakfast:
3 total eggs for the both of us plus tons of egg whites. Asparagus, lean turkey sausage for me, smoked salmon for my husband. Organic coffee and 1tbs. cream each and for me cinnamon.
MISTAKE: no beans :(
Snack:
I was hungry a couple hours later, stuffed my face asparagus. Held me until lunch time.
Lunch:
For lunch, oh yeah! Pollo Loco, best beans love the serano peppers. Beans with a lot of chicken (one ate side, saved the other) Added some of the avocado salsa and some unsweetened tea. Eesh, was that good!
Snack
Ahh ... some more asparagus, and leftover chicken from lunch.
Dinner
Gotta pat myself on the back. This was awesome, some flap steak, salad, broccoli (me), sauteed onion, mushroom, and asparagus (my husband) and some green avocado salsa. With some sparkling water. Notice, no legumes. Going to try that for a while, maybe that's what kept me from sleeping well, having a full tummy.
Feel pretty good after this meal. I hope I stop craving the evil evil sugars. Discovered Trader Joe's cocoa nibs ... incase I really crave the sweets :) a little bitter but great, only had a couple they are miniscule!

Day 2: Piece of cake?
Survived Day 1 ... A little grouchy at the end of the day, not just me but my husband too. Assuming that is normal because of the bad, yet so good white carbs on my end ... oh and the fruit! Not to mention Greek yogurt! Enough with the taunting. Writing down those things I am craving ... come Saturday, go in my belly!
Quick pat on my back .... I have an addiction to Spiced Chile Dried Mango (Trader Joe's) ... so tempted yesterday--Didn't eat it. Pushed aside the thought of "oh, just a little won't hurt" HA! That little turns into the entire bag.
Weighed in last night ... at 151lbs.
One word, depressing.
Chest:35
Waist:31
Hips:42
Today
Breakfast this morning consisted of 1 egg and lots egg whites, Turkey sausage and coffee with one tablespoon of cream (Yes, I measured it--my husband not very thrilled) and added some cinnamon. Surprisingly, really enjoyed the cinnamon
I need to get in the habit of taking pictures of the meals before I eat them. According to Ferriss ... people who did this loss more weight. We shall see!
So for lunch ... had some mixed greens (no dressing) easy, I never really liked dressing (other than Togo's Asian), had a rotisserie chicken breast and loads of pinto beans, with some green salsa.
It was pretty good, I at least really like beans. My husband not so much ... packed him some extra spinach and chicken :)
We are allowed to have snacks ... mmm
3pm snack ... cucumber with chile, salt and lime. (still worried about cucumber being bad)
For dinner ... El Pollo Loco. Not too shabby, Pollo bowl (beans, green avocado salsa and lots of chicken breast).
I feel stuffed! Day two down :) piece of cake indeed, too bad it's not in my belly ;)

Day 1 of The 4-Hour Body
So, the 4-hour body ... courtesy of my husband. Never realized diet was such a difficult thing to follow. I've always been the type to eat whatever it is that I felt like eating, whenever I wanted and maintain my weight ... then the real world was introduced.
Working at a desk ... one word--Sucks! You sit, you eat, you sit, you eat. That is just a recipe for disaster. Clearly.
Over the past say 4.5 years .. started and finished college and started working ... no "time" for working out. HA! Well gained 20 lbs ... went up and down always steadily. But that's the past now ... New beginning!
Day 1 ... no carbs :(
no fruit :(
no dairy :(
All I am doing is looking forward to this Saturday ... when I get to eat whatever my little heart desires!
Has to be easier when the other person you live with is planning to do the same for the same reason.
Will do before pictures and measurements today :) wish me luck!
